CBD That's Giving Us All the *Feals*

In today’s extra cautious world, when you’re sick — whether it’s the common cold, the flu, or simply a spell of sneezes at the grocery store — everyone seems to have some sort of advice.

Drink green juice! Diffuse frankincense! Don’t ever eat sugar again! While the urgency of these suggestions eventually fades, what I’ve found to be a wellness hack that’s sure to stick well past the self-quarantine era has been the increasingly common CBD recommendation.

CBD (or cannabidiol) is one of many chemical compounds in a class called "cannabinoids" that occur naturally in cannabis plants. They work with the body's endocannabinoid system to regulate mood, pain, and, for me, provide a sense of clarity in this downright weird AF time.

Known for its calming effects, CBD doses are personalized and affect each person differently. A small amount (around 20 MG) may provide focus for some, while a slightly larger amount (30 MG) can help reduce pain and inflammation, and an even larger amount (60 MG) welcomes an extra refreshing night of sleep.

The recent legalization of marijuana in west coast states like California, Oregon, Washington State, and Nevada has catapulted CBD into the mainstream. Not only can you buy CBD tinctures, but you can also rub CBD lotions on your face, skin cream on sore muscles, and, yes... there’s even lube. You can buy it alongside groceries at your corner market, at a local dispensary, or, of course, online.

However, now that CBD is so easily available, many brands are taking advantage of the lack of widespread education around it by using synthetic ingredients, not being transparent about how much CBD is really in their product, and/or selling products that contain such low doses that they don’t make any meaningful impact.

I’ve been on the hunt for CBD I can trust, and the brand that has captured my attention — and held it — is Feals. Not only does the matte orange glass bottle look amazing on your countertop, each full-spectrum batch goes through rigorous third-party testing to ensure the purest end product available.

Feals is hand-harvested by farmers in Colorado and Oregon and is made up of only two all-natural ingredients: full-spectrum hemp extract and organic MCT oil.

Because of its minimal THC content (less than 0.3%) it doesn’t get you high, leave you with a hangover, or become addictive.

Bottles are available to purchase individually ($74.95 for 600 MG, $134.95 for 1200 MG, or $244.95 for 2400 MG), or, as part of their convenient membership program, members enjoy 30% off their order, which is then delivered to your door monthly in recyclable packaging. And, because converting milligrams and strengths can get confusing for any CBD newbie, Feals also includes a mini guidebook that explains how much you should be taking and for what benefit, complete with markers on the dropper so you can better monitor your intake.

For those unsure of what individual dose would work best, Feals offers a convenient pocket-sized “Flight” for $20, which contains a vial of each strength so you can test them all before you take the CBD plunge.

Sleep-filled nights and a sense of calm within the storm are about to be your new normal… I can Feal it.
